Jane has practiced public accounting for over 20 years and has been a principal since 1991. Jane’s primary area of responsibility is overseeing the tax planning and compliance practice of the Waterbury office. She brings extensive experience and training in all areas of taxation—individuals, closely held businesses, estates and trusts, and not-for-profit organizations. Specific areas of tax focus include estate planning and taxation of foreign owned U.S. corporations. She is active with the Connecticut Estate and Tax Planning Council, currently serving on the Board of Directors as well as being a member of the Tax Division of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

In addition to her other responsibilities, Jane is a key member of the Health Care Industry Services Group. Her training and experience in this area include membership in the American Academy of Medical Practice Analysts. She also currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Waterbury Hospital.

As a member of the Manufacturing Industry Services Group, Jane provides expertise and experience in the areas of inventory valuation, mergers and acquisitions, analysis of choice of tax entity, state nexus and sales tax issues.

Jane's association with Nishball, Carp, Niedermeier & Pacowta and Co., P.C. was the result of a merger of Pacowta & Hubbard, LLP, Waterbury, CT with the Nishball firm in Bridgeport, CT in 1997. Jane has prior experience as a tax manager in the Waterbury office of Deloitte Touche from 1988 to 1990.

Other areas of expertise include service to auto dealership clients, accounting, auditing and taxation services for tax-exempt entities, and litigation support.

Jane's current community activities and commitments include serving on the Board of Directors of the Waterbury Symphony, the Professional Advisors’ Subcommittee of the Waterbury Foundation, and the Finance Committee of St. Paul’s Church, Woodbury, CT. Previously she has served on the Parents’ Committees of Westover School, Middlebury, CT, The Loomis Chaffee School, Windsor, CT, and Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, PA.

Jane received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Mass. and holds advanced degrees from Brown University, Providence, R.I. and the University of Hartford.
